{"id":5351,"date":"2024-09-25T16:14:46","date_gmt":"2024-09-25T13:14:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/helsinkijazz.fi\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=5351"},"modified":"2024-09-25T16:14:46","modified_gmt":"2024-09-25T13:14:46","slug":"introduction-to-jazz","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/helsinkijazz.fi\/en\/events\/introduction-to-jazz\/","title":{"rendered":"Introduction to Jazz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The event is part of Helsinki Jazz Association\u2019s 50th anniversary celebration.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before the performance, Helsinki Jazz Association\u2019s chairman of the board, Sakari Puhakka, will briefly talk about the history of the association.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Riitta Paakki: electric piano<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Antti L\u00f6tj\u00f6nen: double bass<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Joonas Riippa: drums<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This trio, consisting of some of Finland\u2019s leading jazz musicians, will perform pieces ranging from early New Orleans jazz to late 1960s free jazz. During the performance, there will be discussions and explanations about jazz&#8217;s form, tradition, and the distinctive features of each style.
