In Ahlroos\u2019 music, influences from blues and rock are strongly present alongside a modern jazz vocabulary.<\/p>\n<p>Ahlroos made his debut as a bandleader and composer with the EP Jimi Ahlroos Trio, released by Jazzaggression Records in the autumn of 2024. Shortly after its release, the record received airplay on, among others, Worldwide FM in Gilles Peterson\u2019s radio show, on Radio Helsinki, and in Yle\u2019s Jazzklubi program.<\/p>\n<p>The Jimi Ahlroos Quartet is a Helsinki-based ensemble that mainly performs Ahlroos\u2019 original compositions. The interplay between saxophone, trumpet, double bass, and drums creates, through Ahlroos\u2019 writing, a soundscape that is acoustic, intimate, and expressive.
