Det f\u00f6rsta m\u00f6tet med en intressant och inspirerande ny fri improvisationsensemble.<\/p>\n

Colombianska Natalia Castrill\u00f3n \u00e4r en m\u00e5ngsidig harpist, s\u00e5ngerska och komposit\u00f6r vars musikaliska r\u00f6tter finns i latinamerikansk traditionell musik, klassisk och experimentell musik. Artisten, som har bott i Helsingfors i flera \u00e5r, \u00e4r en eftertraktad musiker som har f\u00f6rm\u00e5gan att korsa genregr\u00e4nser och ber\u00f6ra lyssnaren.<\/p>\n

Natalia har utvecklat sitt eget personliga s\u00e4tt att spela, d\u00e4r hon kombinerar innovativa och perkussiva speltekniker med mer traditionellt harpspel.<\/p>\n

Sergio Castrill\u00f3n \u00e4r en cellist, improvisat\u00f6r, komposit\u00f6r och forskare som \u00e4r intresserad av ljud och olika uttryck av konst. Han upptr\u00e4der aktivt i samtida musikverk och improvisationsspelningar och deltar i samarbetsprojekt som anv\u00e4nder teater, poesi och samtida dans f\u00f6rutom musik. Han samarbetar mycket med sin syster Natalia.<\/p>\n

John Hollenbeck \u00e4r en k\u00e4nd komposit\u00f6r, trummis, bandledare och l\u00e4rare. Han var professor i trumspel och improvisation vid Jazz Institute Berlin 2005-2016 och 2015 b\u00f6rjade han p\u00e5 Fakulteten vid McGill Universitys Schulich School of Music i Montreal som professor i trumspel. Hans kanske mest k\u00e4nda band \u00e4r Claudia-kvintetten som \u00e4ven bes\u00f6kt Finland, ut\u00f6ver detta har han bl.a. stor ensemble John Hollenbeck Stor ensemble och den fri improvisation ensemblen Blind Date Quartet..<\/p>\n

John Hollenbeck bes\u00f6kte den f\u00f6rsta delen av Jazz Finland Residency f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret och kommer nu att forts\u00e4tta mellan 1-21 augusti 2022. Trots coronapandemin hann Hollenbeck tr\u00e4ffa ett 50-tal finska musiker under sitt tv\u00e5 veckor l\u00e5nga bes\u00f6k f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret, undervisa p\u00e5 Sibelius-Akademins jazzl\u00e4rarl\u00e4ger och ge en konsert med ett band som best\u00e5r av Sibelius-Akademins l\u00e4rare p\u00e5 KOKO Jazz Klubb i Helsingfors den 19 augusti (en av de b\u00e4sta konserterna 2021) och framf\u00f6ra en konsert med UMO Helsinki den 24 augusti.<\/p>\n
