The Eighth Hour Of Amduat<\/h3>\n

Amduat \u00e4r en egyptisk begravningstext fr\u00e5n cirka 1425 f.Kr. Kompositionen inneh\u00e5ller b\u00e5de sjungna och spelade partier, vilket g\u00f6r den till den f\u00f6rsta k\u00e4nda partituren. Amduat ber\u00e4ttar om solguden Ras nedstigning till livet efter detta och hans \u00e5terf\u00f6delse till livet varje natt och morgon.
\nDavid Sulzer \u00e4r neuropsykolog och musiker. Laboratoriet han leder vid Columbia University unders\u00f6ker synapsernas funktion i hj\u00e4rnbarken i samband med till exempel Parkinsons sjukdom och autism. Som musiker anv\u00e4nder han namnet Dave Soldier och har gjort musik till bland annat sin punkstr\u00e5kkvartett och elefanter. Tillsammans med det konceptuella artistparet Komar & Melamid har han \u00e4ven komponerat verken The most wanted\/unwanted song, som bygger p\u00e5 omfattande enk\u00e4tdata om vilken typ av musik folk vill h\u00f6ra\/inte h\u00f6ra.
\nThe Eightth Hour of Amduat \u00e4r en video-opera som kombinerar klassiskt, elektroniskt och jazzuttryck, librettot skrevs av egyptologen Rita Lucarelli. I den g\u00f6r Sun Ra Arkestras Marshall Allen rollen som Ra med saxofoner och ett elektroniskt EWI-instrument. D\u00e4r finns ocks\u00e5 mezzosopranen Sahoko Sato Timpone, k\u00f6ren och orkestern.
\nSun Ra Arkestras workshop \u00e4r kopplad till det finska bandet Edward Vesala Sound & Furys verksamhet. Inf\u00f6r operaf\u00f6rest\u00e4llningen h\u00f6rs starkbl\u00e5sarna Tane Kannisto, Pepa P\u00e4ivinen<\/strong> och Jorma Tapio<\/strong> spela.
\nNaarmu-gruppen f\u00f6ddes kring hela forskningsf\u00f6rest\u00e4llningen av Cornelius Cardews musikteaterstycke The Great Learning. Dess arbetss\u00e4tt innefattar att experimentera och diskutera, fr\u00e4mja pluralism och str\u00e4va efter intern organisation. Evenemanget inleds med bandets framf\u00f6rande av Christian Wolffs verk Stones.<\/p>\n

Evenemanget arrangeras i samarbete med Tulkinnanvaraista<\/strong> konsertserie.<\/p>\n
