PLOP & Junnu – PLOP & JUNNU record release concert

PLOP, which celebrates the group’s 15th anniversary as an artist, and Juhani “Junnu” Aaltonen, a living legend in Finnish jazz, performed together for the first time in the summer of 2018. The first corona fall of 2020, the quartet recorded a radio band for YLE at Finnvox, known by Junnu since the 1960s.

That recording will be released now. All the recorded and performed compositions are works created during the first corona year, including “A Letter to Han” by Innanen to the Dutch drummer Han Bennink, “Plenary Session” with a parliamentary theme and Herralas “Totnoy” and Riippa’s “11% +”. Swing and synergy with guaranteed PLOP quality are promised.
