Alder ego

Alder ego is a jazz band formed by four musicians from Helsinki. The band has been active since 2015. The band has toured extensively in Finland and abroad, e.g. Pori jazz, Flame jazz, We jazz and X jazz festivals, as well as the Finnish Jazz Federation’s tour in the autumn of 2019. Alder ego has released two records that have been critical successes, e.g. in Helsinki newspapers and in the Downbeat publication.

The band released their third album in the spring of 2021 through the We Jazz brand. The music on the album sails in even deeper waters, the music reflects the special atmosphere of 2020, but also looks hopefully into the future. The music is intense and bold, with audible influences from the open expression of form of the 60s and nuances of chamber music. Over the years, the band has become a composite unit with its own personal style and recognizable common timbre.
