Known as sovereign rulers of their instruments, composers and master improvisers, Veli Kujala (accordion) and Esa Pietilä (saxophone) founded a new, innovative duo in 2013, whose music is based on both partially composed and completely improvised material. The music effectively utilizes the expressive possibilities of live electronics, jazz music and contemporary music.

The debut concert in Camerata hall at Musiikkitalo in September 2013 showed the duo’s music as a real firework of tonal colors and a musical collage, where consciousness-expanding sound worlds and rhythmic layering magically take the listener to musical spaces never before experienced. The duo’s unique expression and sound can be described as massive, captivating, electric, virtuoso, tense and even raw, without forgetting minimalism and delicate playfulness. Within this band, almost anything is possible, and no musical ground is sacred or impossible for them!
