The duo Esa Pietilä – Mart Soo was founded in January 2020 by recording the album Lighthouse Stories. The duo’s music is genre-free, a multidimensional soundscape consisting of improvised and sketch-like compositions and spatial play. The abundant use of live electronics in addition to the expression of both artists gives opportunities for the creation of many very different magical worlds and the creation of surprising musical textures. The duo’s album is inspired by the lighthouses on the coast of Estonia and Finland and the various maritime associations that arise through them.
